Rays of Sunshine announces newest member of senior management team

Nina Bradburn, wish parent and Executive Board member, joins as Executive Director

Rays of Sunshine is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Executive Director, Nina Bradburn, who will take up her new post on Monday 14th June 2021.

Nina has been involved with the charity for several years, initially as a wish parent when the charity granted her daughter, Olivia’s, greatest wish to go to Florida to meet Winter the Dolphin, before becoming a member of the charity’s Executive Board.

As a part of Team Sunshine, Nina has voluntarily assisted at charity events, participated in corporate partnership pitches, and even taken part in sponsored races, including the London Marathon, to raise money for the charity.

Commenting on her new appointment, Nina Bradburn said:

As the parent of a wish child, I have witnessed first-hand the incredible work Rays of Sunshine does; the hope and happiness it gives in the darkest of times, the family memories it creates and how it positively impacts on a child’s health and recovery.  I am beyond excited to have this incredible opportunity to work with Team Sunshine. It’s a dream come true, and I cannot wait to channel the energy and passion I have for the charity into helping deliver the best possible wish experiences, so that they can bring sunshine to the life of every seriously ill child in the UK.

Chairman of Trustees, Stephen Allan, added:

We’re delighted to be welcoming Nina to the team in her new role. Throughout the years, Nina has been an extremely valued member of Team Sunshine. She has boundless enthusiasm for whatever she applies herself to, has tremendous empathy for the work we do and in her new role, will be able to support us in many facets of the charity’s work. We’re sure she’ll be invaluable in ensuring the charity continues to bring sunshine to seriously ill children and their families when they need it the most.

This exciting new appointment follows the recent appointment of Dr Michele Afif, who will commence her role as Chief Executive Officer on September 1st 2021.
