About Rays of Sunshine
Rays of Sunshine was formed in 2003 to brighten the lives of seriously ill children across the UK.
Rays of Sunshine was formed in 2003 to brighten the lives of seriously ill children across the UK.
There are over 85,000 children and young people living in the UK with a life-threatening or life-limiting illness*. This figure is increasing every year.
We believe that every child deserves to experience happiness and put their illness on hold – even if it is just for one day.
Our work creates a positive distraction, reduces isolation, improves self-esteem and creates precious memories and smiles.
We brighten the lives of seriously ill children aged three to 18 across the UK by granting their magical wishes and providing ongoing support within hospitals and in the community
Every single wish, community event and hospital project, Rays of Sunshine has made possible in the last two decades (& counting!) can be traced back to one conversation between friends who wanted to help make the world a brighter place for seriously ill children.
Our history
A wish gives seriously ill children pure joy and creates precious memories.
Read about our recent wishes directly from the children and families we have granted them for.
Our values are at the heart of everything we do and help guide us in our mission to grant more magical wishes for seriously ill children.
We are kind to ourselves and others in everything we do.
We work with fun, passion, and a sprinkle of magic.
We work to build confidence and nurture potential.
We build strong connections with everyone in our wish community.
We are honest and trusted to do the right thing.
