Meet the Team: our Rays of Sunshine superheroes taking on the 2026 London Marathon
We are thrilled to introduce you to our terrific team of runners taking on the 2026 TCS London Marathon to help us grant more magical wishes for seriously ill children.
The Team Sunshine class of 2026 is made up of 55 runners of all abilities and from all walks of life. For many, this is their first marathon, but for others it’s the latest in a long line of challenges.
Whether you make it to the course to cheer on the sidelines, or are watching from home, it won’t be hard to spot our runners in their sunshine-yellow vests! Be sure to give them a wave and a cheer when you do!
Here are a few of the faces to look out for along the iconic 26.2-mile course on 26th April:

Vienna
Vienna: 18-year-old Vienna is our youngest Team Sunshine member, and is a former Wish Child. As a young teenager, Vienna had an accident which resulted in the amputation of her hand. Rays of Sunshine worked to bring joy back to her life with a wish to meet her favourite YouTubers, the Sidemen. Vienna is running to ensure that other young people living with serious and life-altering illnesses can have their own wish too. Support her here.
Clodagh: Clodagh is one of Rays of Sunshine’s very own Wish Granters! In her time with the charity, she’s helped grant more than 300 magical wishes for seriously and terminally ill children. She’s running in memory of her brother Tyrone, who was granted a wish to meet his favourite character Bart Simpson many years ago too, while living with a brain tumour. Get behind Clodagh’s run here.
Sunita & Daryl: husband and wife team Sunita and Daryl first learned about Rays of Sunshine when their son Owen was gifted a cuddly toy through the charity’s Sunshine in Hospitals programme. Sunita says: “Owen still talks fondly of the fun and happiness the Rays of Sunshine team brought during his hospital visits.” Show your support for Sunita and Daryl.
Kerry & Brad: friends Kerry and Brad will be taking on the London Marathon together, inspired by Kerry’s son Adam, who lives with life-limiting illnesses. Adam was granted a wish to visit Disneyland Paris as a child, and Kerry says she and Brad are running to ensure other families like hers are able to experience the same magic. Get behind Kerry and Brad here.

Joe: dad-of-two Joe is running in memory of his eldest sister Victoria, who sadly passed away aged from a brain tumour at just six years old. He says: “I often think about how much a charity like Rays of Sunshine could have meant to Victoria and our family – creating special moments, bringing smiles, and making memories during such a difficult time.” Support Joe’s run here.
Amy Chambers, CEO of Rays of Sunshine, says: “Our incredible Team Sunshine runners continue to inspire us with the time, dedication and determination they’ve committed to their 2026 London Marathon challenge.
“Every mile they run and every pound they raise helps us brighten the lives of seriously ill children, bringing moments of joy when they are needed most.
“Having completed the marathon myself last year, I truly understand what an extraordinary achievement this is, and just how much it takes to get to the start line, let alone cross the finish.
“We are so proud of every single member of Team Sunshine and deeply grateful for their support. We can’t wait to cheer them across the finish line on the big day.”
