Rays of Sunshine announces new Chief Executive Officer

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of our new Chief Executive Officer, Lindsey Bennister, has officially joined the Rays of Sunshine team and we are incredibly thrilled to have her onboard.

On Monday 16 November, Lindsey Bennister officially joins the Rays of Sunshine family as CEO.

Lindsey joins the children’s charity from blood cancer charity WMUK, having previously spent eight years as CEO of Sarcoma UK. Here, she led the charity from a start-up to a multi-million pound organisation that included building partnerships with patrons, as well as becoming 10 Downing Street’s official charity.

A bit about Lindsey; she enjoys swimming in freezing cold water and can be found at the Parliament Hill Lido even in the middle of the winter!

She has one daughter at university, a miniature labradoodle called Dougie, is an Arsenal fan, and loves travelling to cities around the world to see her favourite bands and artists perform.

Commenting on her appointment, Lindsey Bennister said:

I’m delighted to be joining this wonderful charity and help brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families across the UK. I can’t wait to see first-hand the joy the charity brings to our beneficiaries, as well as meet our incredibly dedicated ambassadors and supporters. Now, more than ever, we need to ensure our vital services are available for all children and families who need us, so that we can continue to bring sunshine into the lives of families and children at home or in hospital.

Steve Allan, Chair of Board of Trustees, added:

We are really pleased to be welcoming Lindsey to Rays of Sunshine. She brings with her enormous experience in fundraising, overseeing charity services, as well as a strong grasp of governance and compliance issues that are so important in today’s environment. These are unprecedented and challenging times for the charity, but we are confident that Lindsey will ensure the charity continues to shine during this time as well as bring joy and hope to seriously ill children when they need it the most.

We are so excited to have Lindsey join the Rays of Sunshine family and would like to say a massive welcome to her.
