Wish child Kaiden treated to VIP London stay and Christmas lights tour, after his wish photo is featured as part of Ubiquitous campaign

Back in January 2025, Rays of Sunshine granted Kaiden’s wish to go behind the scenes of his favourite ever television show, Britain’s Got Talent, after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2022. Kaiden was treated like a VIP on the day of his wish, having fun with the show’s social media team, watching the hopefuls audition, and spending lots of one-to-one time with Simon Cowell.

Now, a picture of Kaiden walking the red carpet outside of his wish has been featured on an iconic London cab, as part of Rays of Sunshine’s awareness campaign with taxi company Ubiquitous. Inside, taxi passengers are able to read more about Rays of Sunshine’s work by scanning QR codes on the seat posters.

To mark the occasion, Kaiden and his family, mum Kathryn, dad Simon, and brothers Elias and Jacob, were invited to London to see the bright yellow taxi, and tour the city’s best Christmas lights in it.

The family were treated to a luxury overnight stay at the Thistle Hotel Piccadilly – another of Rays of Sunshine’s treasured charity partners. There, staff decorated the family’s room and left treats for the family to make their stay extra memorable.

After checking into the Thistle, Kaiden and his family were picked up from the hotel by the special Ubiquitous yellow taxi, and offered a bespoke tour of London’s Christmas lights, including iconic displays at Oxford and Regents Street, Sloane Square, Trafalgar Square and Mayfair.

Speaking about the day, Kaiden said: “It felt really weird to ride in a taxi with my face on the side, but also really fun! I loved seeing all the Christmas lights and sitting in the driver’s seat of the taxi!”

Sarah Osborne, Head of Wishes at Rays of Sunshine, said: “Partnering with Ubiquitous has been a fantastic way for us to raise awareness around London for the work we do brightening the lives of seriously ill children.

“We are so grateful to the team for helping us organise such a special day for Kaiden to come face to face with our Sunshine Taxi.”

“We’re also incredibly grateful to The Thistle for making Kaiden’s overnight stay so special – and for their continued support in helping us deliver wishes.”
