The Children's Panel: building a brighter future for seriously ill children

>

What is The Children’s Panel?

The Children’s Panel is a group of wish children which helps Rays of Sunshine to put children’s voices at the heart of everything we do.

Members will help Rays of Sunshine to sprinkle even more magic on our wishes and services by sharing your unique experiences and opinions.

They will be invited to our welcome day to meet other members, attend bi-monthly meetings and other sessions when needed and join our end-of-year celebration event.

Who can apply for The Children’s Panel?

The Children’s Panel is made up of 12 children, between the ages of 8 and 17, living with a serious illness, and who have used Rays of Sunshine’s services within the past five years. This could be:

  • Having a wish granted
  • Attending our Sunshine Sessions
  • Attended a Wish Community event
  • Being a member of the Rays of Sunshine Choir
  • Or accessing our Sunshine in Hospitals Programme

What can Children’s Panel members expect?

We looked for children and young people with confidence, or looking to to grow their confidence by being a part of this programme.

They represent the communities we work with and can commit to three out of four meetings in the year

Applications are now closed – thank you to everyone who applied.

How does The Children’s Panel help its members?

We work with panel members to help build confidence, nurture potential and make even stronger connections within our wish community.

The panel will create friendships, reduce isolation and empower children and young people to believe in themselves and their abilities.

Help build a brighter future for seriously ill children today by joining our Children’s Panel.
