Olly Murs grants wishes for 10 seriously ill children with Rays of Sunshine

Our incredible ambassador, Olly Murs, made the wishes of 10 seriously ill children come true when he invited them to an exclusive event in London with Rays of Sunshine.

Amongst the children there on the day was nine-year-old Maddie, from Norwich, who is living with Dravet Syndrome, a rare and serious form of epilepsy, six-year-old Amelia, from Heybridge, who is living with a complex heart disease, nine-year-old Callum, from Essex, who is living with Neurofibromatosis, as well as other serious conditions, 17-year-old Joe, from London, who is battling a rare form of cancer and five-year-old Rosie, from Gosport, who is currently living with Rhabdomyosarcoma. Teens, Noor, Bethany, Maria Christina, Mia and Alana, who are all being treated at University College London Hospital, also attended the event.

Olly spent time chatting to all of the children, including taking lots of questions, before having photos taken. Questions included, “Where is your favourite place to perform?” to which Olly said he “always loves performing live in Birmingham”, “Do you like being on The Voice?” to which he said “I love it! It’s one of the best things I have ever done” and “Who is your biggest role model?” where Olly revealed that at the moment it’s “the legend that is Sir Tom Jones.”

After the event, Olly Murs posted on his Instagram:

Yesterday we had such a laugh Rays of Sunshine these kids cracked me up, the questions put to me were very interesting… “can you date my mum?”, “When is new music coming out? If not soon, I’m moving onto another singer” absolutely brutal!! But such a great time, the kids were unreal, considering everything that must be going on in their own lives they smiled and we had a right good time xx loved it
