Rays of Sunshine and Daz Black team up this Halloween for a spectacularly spooky game-athon fundraiser to grant more magical wishes

Poster for Daz Black's charity stream for Rays of SunshineRays of Sunshine is thrilled to announce our partnership with content creator Daz Black for a Halloween-themed streaming fundraiser to help us grant more magical wishes for seriously ill children in the UK.

At 4:30pm on 28th October, Daz will enter an immersive gaming live-stream, where your donations will have a direct impact on the night he has! Different fundraising milestones will unlock different characters and events, ensuring Daz is kept on his toes with fun and frights as he games over the course of six hours.

On top of helping brighten the lives of seriously ill children, donations will also give viewers a chance to unlock different prizes, kindly donated by our partners.

Daz says: “I’m so excited to be teaming up with Rays of Sunshine for this Halloween game-athon. It’s going to be a night of frights and fun, all to benefit an amazing charity which supports seriously ill young people when they need it most.

“I’ve been lucky enough to be part of a wish with Rays of Sunshine for a young man named James – so I’ve seen the magic these wishes offer first-hand. I hope everyone gets behind this fundraiser and donate, so we can make more wishes happen for young people like him.”
Amy Chambers, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Rays of Sunshine, says: “Daz has such a great way of bringing smiles and laughter to everyone who watches him, which is exactly what Rays of Sunshine is about too.

“Together with his amazing fans, we’ll be able to make this Halloween season and beyond unforgettable for seriously ill children and their families.”

James’s wish

Daz has been a friend of Rays of Sunshine for some time, after helping us grant then-18-year-old James’s wish last year. James has loved Daz’s videos for years, so our wish granters teamed up with Daz to create the ultimate superfan experience.

James and Daz met at Alton Towers, where they were the first to complete Daz’s all-new scare escape maze!

James said: “When I started chemo, it was during a time when all my friends were moving on to college and getting jobs. So, especially while I was in hospital, Daz’s funny videos were so important to me.”

“He was everything I had it in my head he would be – so genuinely nice and funny,”recalls James.“I remember asking him about his older videos from like 2018 and his Vine channel, and we had such a good time. I know they say you shouldn’t meet your heroes, but Daz was just so great, and he really put me at ease,”he adds.
