Meet Delilah

8-year-old Delilah was diagnosed with a High Grade Medulloblastoma late 2022, and has had multiple intensive and invasive treatments to manage her illness.

“Delilah’s diagnosis was a huge shock to all of us – we went to hospital thinking she had a concussion, and she just became so ill so quickly,” says Caitlin Bell, Delilah’s mum. But even though Delilah has been through months of gruelling treatment, the little girl has kept her spirits high, most often by singing along to Pink in hospital.

A lifelong Pink fan herself, Caitlin introduced Delilah to the singer at a young age and the pair bonded over their love of her music. “I’d put Pink on in the house whenever I was busy, and we’d end up singing along together,” says Caitlin.

Because of the happy memories associated with Pink’s music, Caitlin says Delilah found comfort singing the artist’s songs while in hospital. Most often, nurses and doctors would find Delilah in a hospital bed with her headphones on, singing along to Raise Your Glass and many of Pink’s other hits.

Why Delilah chose the wish

When we asked Delilah what she wanted her wish to be, Caitlin says there was no question that Pink was top of her list. Knowing how special Pink was to the little girl, the charity’s Wish Granters set to work organising a concert experience fit for a superfan. And according to Caitlin, news of her wish gave Delilah a huge boost in the face of her treatment.

“Delilah went into hospital just before Christmas, and only came out about a week before the concert. I think it was the fact she was so excited to see Pink that got her through those last few weeks,” Caitlin says.

On the night of the concert, Delilah donned her sparkliest party dress for the occasion, and plenty of glitter, before dancing and singing the night away with her mum.
