Head of Finance

Salary: £55-65,000 per annum paid pro rata based on 3-4 days per week, depending on experience

Hours: Part-time, 3–4 days per week (22.5–30 hours)

Working pattern: Flexible working hours, with home and office working

Location: Finchley, N3 (nearest station Finchley Central) / Home Working

Reports to: Chief Executive

Direct reports: Senior Finance Officer

Key working relationships: Senior Management Team / Treasurer / Board of Trustees

Purpose of Role

The Head of Finance is a pivotal senior leadership role responsible for providing strong financial leadership, insight and assurance across Rays of Sunshine.

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Treasurer, Board of Trustees and Senior Management Team, the postholder will lead the charity’s finance function, ensuring robust financial planning, reporting, controls and governance.

This is a hands-on senior finance role within a lean and ambitious organisation. The successful candidate will combine strong technical financial expertise with the ability to translate financial information into clear, practical insight that supports effective decision-making and the charity’s future growth.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Finance will play an important role in organisational planning and strategy, while line-managing and developing the Senior Finance Officer.

Executive Assistant to CEO

Salary: £32,000–£38,000 FTE per annum, depending on experience, paid pro rata for 3 days per
week

Hours: Part-time, 3 days (22.5 hours) per week (alternative days/hours will be considered)

Contract: Initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with a view to extension

Start date: Immediate start desirable

Working pattern: Flexible working hours, with home and office working

Key working relationships: Senior Management Team / Head of Finance / Board of Trustees /
Committee Chairs and members / external suppliers and advisers

Purpose of Role

The Executive Assistant to the CEO is a key coordination role, providing high-quality executive support to the Chief Executive while helping to ensure strong organisation, governance and
operational follow-through across Rays of Sunshine.

The postholder will manage the CEO’s diary and priorities, coordinate Board, Committee and Senior Management Team activity, maintain key governance and policy cycles, and provide oversight and coordination across organisational projects, suppliers and operational processes.

This is a hands-on role in a small, ambitious organisation. The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organised and comfortable working autonomously, bringing structure to competing priorities, identifying where follow-up is needed and ensuring actions move through to completion.

The role works closely with colleagues across Rays of Sunshine and provides an important link between the CEO, Senior Management Team, Trustees, Committees and external suppliers. It is designed to strengthen organisational coordination while complementing the strategic financial leadership provided by the Head of Finance.
