Rays of Sunshine Update
We’re pleased to share some important updates about changes within our organisation, as we continue to strengthen our team to brighten the lives of even more seriously and terminally ill children across the UK.
Board and Trustee Updates
We are delighted to welcome Hayley Allan as the newest Trustee of Rays of Sunshine. As a co-founder of the charity and a member of our Executive Board, Hayley has been instrumental in our success and a passionate advocate for our work for over 21 years, and bringing a wealth of experience to the board.
We would also like to acknowledge that co-founder, Mark Shipman, has also joined our board, who was previously a member of our Executive Board from 2011 and has led the success of our Property and Private Equity Estates Dinners.
In addition, Jane Sharpe has been appointed as Vice Chair, reflecting her continued dedication and leadership within the charity. Jane has been involved with Rays of Sunshine since 2003, starting as a volunteer and eventually becoming Chief Executive in September 2010 serving for 10 years, stepping down to join the Board of Trustees.
At the same time, we bid farewell to Tim Allan, Grant Fox, David Saul and Jonathan Vandermolan who have been instrumental in shaping the charity’s direction and impact over the years. We are incredibly grateful for their time, dedication, and the difference they have made. Richard Burston has also stepped down but continues to support the charity as a board advisor.
Leadership Team Changes
We also want to share some key changes within our executive team:
- Dan Assor has departed from his role as CEO. We thank Dan for his contributions to the charity and wish him all the best for the future.
- Amy Chambers has transitioned to the role of CEO, having previously served as Chief of Staff and Director of Fundraising & Communications.
- Sarah Osborne has been promoted to Head of Wishes and Hospital Services, leading our work in creating unforgettable experiences for the children we support.
- Daniel Jagger has stepped into the role of Head of Operations and Finance, ensuring the charity runs efficiently and sustainably.
- Jenny Porter has been appointed as Head of Events and will also join the Senior Management Team, bringing fresh ideas and expertise to our exciting events programme.
Amy Chambers said: “We are incredibly grateful to our departing Exec Board and Trustees for their invaluable contributions and commitment to Rays of Sunshine over the years. At the same time, we are thrilled to welcome Hayley Allan and Mark Shipman as Trustees and congratulate Jane Sharpe on her appointment as Vice Chair. These leadership changes mark an exciting new chapter for the charity, and I look forward to working alongside our dedicated and passionate team as CEO to continue to brighten the lives of more seriously and terminally ill children, and their families.”
“As Rays of Sunshine continues to evolve, our commitment to bringing joy and hope to seriously ill children remains stronger than ever. We look forward to the future and the incredible impact we will achieve together.”
