Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity grants 11-year-old’s wish to meet famous performers

Eleven-year-old Halle, from East Kilbride, Scotland, had her wish granted to meet all four judges from The Voice UK, thanks to Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity. Rays of Sunshine ambassador, Olly Murs, and fellow judges, Jennifer Hudson, Will.I.Am and Sir Tom Jones, took time out of their busy filming schedule to meet a group of children all living with life-limiting conditions, including Halle, at Elstree Studios, London.

Halle is currently living with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic condition that affects the lungs, digestion and liver. Due to her condition, Halle’s lung function will reduce over time and as such, she must partake in a daily routine of physiotherapy, multiple antibiotic meds and regular hospital visits. Despite this, Halle is a very brave and positive young girl who loves to watch The Voice UK.

At the special event at Elstree Studios, London, all of the children got to enjoy spending time with each of The Voice UK judges, chatting and asking questions before taking plenty of photos. They were then invited to watch a live recording of the show.

Following the wish day, Jayne, Halle’s mum, said: “Thank you Rays of Sunshine and The Voice UK, we had such a great time! The whole weekend was just perfect and it has given us all a memory to keep forever.”

Sir Tom Jones shared a social media post with a picture of Halle on his Instagram page following the event that said: “It was a pleasure to meet the children of @raysofsunshinecc at the weekend, helping to grant their wish of coming along to @thevoiceuk. A brilliant charity, doing fantastic things!”
