Rays of Sunshine grants 18-year-old’s wish to go on a shopping spree, with help from Arcadia store OUTFIT.
A seriously ill 18-year-old teen, from Tiptree, Essex had her greatest wish granted when she got to go on a special VIP shopping trip to Outfit, Chelmsford, thanks to Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity www.raysofsunshine.org.uk and OUTFIT www.outfitfashion.com.
Leyla is currently living in remission for Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma after being diagnosed at the beginning of April 2013 at the age of fifteen. As a result, Leyla has had to undergo Chemotherapy as well as weekly blood tests to try and treat her illness. Despite her being in remission, she still attends regular hospital appointments to keep an eye on her condition. Leyla has managed to complete her GCSEs, despite missing most of Year 10, and one day aspires to be a Veterinary nurse. Leyla is a very sociable teenager who enjoys spending time with friends and she has stayed brave throughout her illness. She also has a big love of fashion, which was the inspiration for her greatest wish.
To make her greatest wish come true, Rays of Sunshine organised for Leyla to go to fashion destination, Outfit, which houses a mix of brands from Topshop to Oasis and everything in between. The teen was treated to a full VIP experience when she was met by her personal shopper, Abbie, who helped her pick out a brand new wardrobe. Once she was all “shopped out”, Leyla, her mum and best friend made their way to Frankie and Benny’s where they were treated to lunch to reboot after an exciting morning.
After her wish, Jenny, Leyla’s mother commented:
“Leyla had the most magical time on her Outfit wish and it has really given her mood a boost. Thank you so much Rays of Sunshine for organising such a special day for Leyla and thank you Outfit for looking after us so well.”
