SUPERCAR CRUISE RAISES £27K FOR SERIOUSLY ILL CHILDREN’S WISHES

Cars & Coffee Charity Cruise in aid of Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity

23rd May 2018 – A Supercar fundraising event, hosted at The Sharnbrook Hotel in Bedford, has raised over £27,000 for Rays of Sunshine, a children’s charity that brightens the lives of seriously ill children across the UK by granting their wishes, granting hospital ward wishes and hosting events for groups of seriously ill children.

Ciro Ciampi, CEO of The Sharnbrook Hotel and founder of PETROLHEADONISM™, organised the Cars & Coffee Charity Cruise event, which saw a host of Supercars and Hypercars on show, in aid of the children’s charity. To ensure the event raised as much money as possible, 50% of the entry fee and 25% of the VIP buffet was donated directly to Rays of Sunshine. Additionally, supporters had the chance to bid in an auction for a ride in one of the Supercars on display, win amazing prizes in a raffle, and donate to have pictures taken with Rays of Sunshine Ambassador and car customiser to the stars, Yianni Charalambous.

Amongst the car loving attendees were some Rays of Sunshine wish families, including 15-year-old Tyler, from Wolverhampton, 12-year-old Marcus, from Leicester and seven-year-old Archie from Dunstable. As well as enjoying seeing all the fantastic cars on show, the children were even bought car rides in Yianni’s super Lamborghini by generous supporters on the day to make it even more special.

Ciro said: “The work Rays of Sunshine does to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families is wonderful. That’s why we were determined to make the event as successful as possible and raise as much money as we possibly could. I’m thrilled we raised an incredible £27,000 – smashing our original target of £10,000! Thank you to everyone who helped make the event possible and thank you to everyone who came along on the day – we did it! ”

Rays of Sunshine Ambassador, Yianni, comments: “It was a fantastic day and it was great to see so many people come together for the love of cars and charity! It was an incredible event to be a part of and I was proud to be there as an ambassador for Rays of Sunshine. £27,000 is an amazing amount of money and will help grant so many wishes for seriously ill children. Thank you to everyone who came along and donated, you truly all made a difference. Here’s to the next one!”

Jane Sharpe, CEO of Rays of Sunshine, added: “We can’t be more thankful to Ciro, The Sharnbrook, Yianni and everyone who came along on the day for raising a phenomenal £27,000 for Rays of Sunshine. The money raised will enable us to brighten the lives of many brave and deserving seriously ill children and for which we can’t be more grateful. Thank you everyone who made the event such a success. We already can’t wait for the next one!”
