You may or may not know that today, 30 June 2017, is World Social Media Day!
So, we here at Rays of Sunshine have had lots of fun revisiting some of our most memorable and iconic social media posts throughout the years.
Now, let’s take it back to 2015 at our annual Rays of Sunshine Party. Not only did Take That entertain our many guests for the evening, but they also gave our amazing Wish Choir an unforgettable night full of smiles, sunshine and a cheeky picture mid-song!

Wishes are at the heart of what we do at Rays of Sunshine and with this in mind we had to mention one of our iconic wishes, which took place 8 years ago. Thanks to the Metropolitan Police, Oscar became a fully-fledged Police Officer for the day and his Wish even made the ITV evening news!

We are blessed to have many wonderful ambassadors, which have included some very well-known celebrities, helping us in our aim to grant magical wishes.
Throwback with us, to one of our earliest Instagram posts with our very own, Olly Murs. The cheeky chappy from Essex has been an ambassador for Rays of Sunshine for many years now and with his help we have been able to make many children’s wishes come to life at his meet and greets.
Be sure to follow Olly here.
All throughout the year we are fortunate enough to have the most amazing supporters completing all sorts of impressive challenges in the name of granting wishes for seriously ill children.
From completing triathlons, to cycling endless miles; without their hard work and determination, we wouldn’t be able to grant so many magical wishes. The same goes to all of those who take on the iconic London Marathon for us – we’re so proud of you all! Check out 2015’s #TeamRays London Marathon runners…
Through YouTube we are able to share some of the amazing wishes and events that we hold every year. Since 2009, we have been posting videos, full of magic, including this one. Last October we held our annual Rays of Sunshine concert at the SSE Wembley Arena. Thousands of the Rays Family came together to enjoy an evening of world class music, from some of the most well know pop stars. Don’t just take our word for it – take a look!
He’s one of the best young players about and has been making wishes come true already for some of our lucky wish children.

To grant as many wishes at possible we are always coming up with new ways of helping to spread the sunshine. Back in February with the help of former wish child Caitlin Kydd, we launched our Kisses4Wishes campaign. Thousands of you got involved around Valentine’s day to share the love and in the process, support us at Rays of Sunshine.
