18-year-old has her greatest wish granted to fly in a helicopter, thanks to Rays of Sunshine and The Fragrance Shop

A seriously ill 18-year-old girl, from Nottingham, had her greatest wish granted when she got to fly in a helicopter, thanks to Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity and The Fragrance Shop

Amie, who is 18 years old, is currently living with rare condition, Dravets Syndrome, which causes epileptic fits and learning difficulties. She was diagnosed with this condition when she was just a couple of months old. To treat her condition, the teen is required to take medication and have regular check-ups at hospital, as well as use a wheelchair. Despite what she has been through, Amie is a very happy young girl who loves to watch helicopters when they fly overhead. Amie really enjoys spending time with her family and her wish was a great opportunity to catch up with her siblings.

To make her greatest wish come true, Rays of Sunshine organised for Amie and her family to have a thrilling Helicopter experience as well as an overnight stay in a hotel. Amie was given the opportunity to see the world from above before being flown to a restaurant for a special lunch. The wish gave Amie the opportunity to feel like a VIP for the day and to spend some quality time with her family.

After her wish, Amie’s mother Penny, commented:

“Amie had a fantastic time, she really took the whole experience in. Thank you so much Rays of Sunshine”

Amie’s wish was made possible thanks to Rays of Sunshine’s corporate partner The Fragrance Shop. The perfume retailer has raised £573,000 for the charity since the partnership began in 2012.
