Rays of Sunshine Hosts Afternoon of Entertainment
Young people staying at The Children’s Trust’s specialist centre in Surrey, got to enjoy and afternoon of entertainment and activities at a recent Hospital Activity Event hosted by Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity. The event aims to provide a distraction and lift the children’s spirits.
During the event, volunteers helped the children take part in a range of fun activities, including building bears, arts and crafts, and bespoke balloon modelling. Amongst the children was five-year-old Finley and 15-year-old Gemma.
The Children’s Trust gives children and young people with brain injury and neurodisability opportunities to live the best life possible, by providing specialist rehabilitation, education and community services across the UK.
Keren Holding, Leisure and Activities Co-ordinator at The Children’s Trust said:
“The Rays of Sunshine activity day was fantastic for the children and young people at The Children’s Trust. Play is an important part of the children’s rehabilitation and this party encouraged the young people to have fun with a range of sensory and interactive activities. It was lovely to see families and siblings getting involved too. The room was full of smiles from start to finish – we can’t wait for Rays of Sunshine’s next visit!”
