17-year-old Rachel has makeover wish granted with Rays of Sunshine and Outfit
TV personality Lydia Bright has teamed up with Rays of Sunshine and its corporate partner OUTFIT, the out-of-town multi-brand retailer from Arcadia, to make the dream of a teen come true. 17-year-old Rachel was invited in to a high street store in Newcastle, Northumberland Street, to enjoy a makeover and shopping spree with the stylish star, who helped make the teen feel every bit a VIP.
Rachel, from Heywood, Manchester, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, a cancer of the white blood cells, in 2013 aged 13-years-old. Due to this, she had to endure intensive chemotherapy treatment and spend a lot of time in hospital for treatment and missed a lot of school. She is currently in remission but continues to go for regular check-ups.
To make Rachel’s VIP makeover dream become a reality, and give her a much needed boost to her self-esteem, Lydia Bright, along with the fashion chain, known for stocking the newest collections from Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis and Burton (including Evans in selected stores), invited the teen to its first high street store in Newcastle to enjoy a day of very special styling and shopping. Lydia Bright has teamed up with OUTFIT for SS17 selecting pieces from the summer range to create her ultimate seasonal wardrobe.
The VIP treatment began as soon as the teen arrived at the store where Lydia was waiting to greet her. During Rachel’s styling session Lydia helped her pick a whole host of new outfits, from some brand new summer essentials to accessories. She also got the chance to get to know Lydia Bright and ask her all her style secrets, as well as having some photos with the stylish star.
“Thank you so much to everyone at Rays of Sunshine and Outfit, I had such an amazing day. I’m so tired today and a little bit sore, but it’s all worth it. It was so lovely to meet Lydia and I well and truly shopped till I dropped!”
“It was an absolute pleasure to help Rays of Sunshine and OUTFIT make Rachel’s wish come true. She is such a beautiful person and it was a real honour to spend time with her and help put a smile on her face. I love styling and creating signature looks for myself, so I hope I helped Rachel create her own signature looks and that she enjoys wearing them throughout the summer.”
Rachel’s wish was made possible thanks to Rays of Sunshine’s corporate partners Outfit. This exciting partnership will see the fashion chain grant a series of VIP makeover and shopping wishes for seriously ill children across the UK, as well as fundraise to help grant magical wishes.
