Ho Ho Ho, festive greetings from the Days @ Rays blog this chilly December. Christmas is almost upon us, all the decorations are up, the shops are packed and festive cheer is in the air. The UK is a pretty good place to be this time of year but there is one better if you’re looking for the full Christmas experience…Lapland!
Lapland, home to Santa…and his reindeer of course, is high up on the wish lists of our wish children this time of year and who can blame them?
And as you might expect, specialising in wishes, we help to provide them with an unforgettable, once in a lifetime experience including being greeted by Santa’s Elves when they arrive, husky sledge riding, snowmobiling, tobogganing and to top it all off a face-to-face meeting with Santa himself.
Like any of our wishes, it all starts with the big reveal where our lovely wish children first find out about their magical wish coming true.
This surprise can conjure up all sorts of emotions of excitement, shock and sometimes being overwhelmed!
Watch as Sam experiences the full spectrum!
During their stay in Lapland, our wish children are guaranteed to have some amazing experiences and meet some pretty special people too. Five-year-old, Freddie even made a budding friendship with one of Santa’s reindeers!
Freddies’ Mum reported back, “We’ve just landed at Manchester after the most incredible 4 days in Lapland. Everything about the break was well organised and planned to a tee. We can not thank you and the team at Rays of Sunshine enough for granting this trip of a lifetime which has made us some fabulous memories.
The boys have loved the snow and have had so much fun. We added onto the trip a reindeer safari and the husky ride. Both were amazing. Thank you again.”
Young Luke went to Lapland earlier this month and had an absolute ball, as the photo below proves!
Upon arriving back in England, Luke was a little upset though as he now wants to live in the North Pole 🙂
Luke’s family said, “Sadly we are home. We had such a fantastic time, none of us wanted to leave. I don’t think anything will ever top the few days we’ve just had, they were simply magical. Every second. So many smiles and so many happy memories. A million thank you’s from us all.”
There is a whole host of activities for our wish families to take part in when they go to Lapland and Tegan was able to say she had learnt the Crazy Reindeer song by the time she came home.
“We had a truly magical time, Tegan was telling everyone that it was her wish and it came true. Tegan learned the crazy reindeer song while we were there and was so excited to go back to school to sing it for her class and tell all her friends about the great time she had. Thank you so much for making this experience possible we will have these amazing memories forever.” said Tegan’s Mum.
Lilia-Mae had a wonderful time with her family and can be seen visiting Santa’s house in the picture below.
“Thank you so much for the most amazing and truly magical trip, we all loved every minute of it.“ said Lilia-Mae’s family.
Ella-Rose, also loved her stay in Lapland. Upon arriving back after their four-day stay, Ella-Rose’s Mum wrote to us with this feedback.
“I just wanted to thank you and everyone at Rays of Sunshine that allowed Ella’s trip to happen. Words cannot describe how absolutely magical it was in Lapland. From the moment we took off on the plane to the moment we landed, it was incredible. We will remember this forever. It really is what dreams are made of. Ella has not stopped talking about how amazing it was. To think 2 years ago how poorly she was and yet now she was experiencing a trip of a lifetime is every parent’s dream.
Thank you so very much, from the bottom of our hearts. It’s exceeded all our expectations.”
We are so pleased that all our lovely wish families, had a fantastic time in Lapland. Now its time for Santa to have some well deserved rest, ahead of his big present delivery to all the children out there just 5 days to go!
If you know someone who might want to apply for their very own magical Lapland wish, you can do so on our website: https://raysofsunshine.org.uk/wishes/online-wish-application/
