TODAY, Managing Director of Frankie & Benny’s, Spencer Ayres and Jane Sharpe, CEO of Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity met for a special meal at Greenwich Busby Way Frankie & Benny’s to celebrate the restaurant group raising an amazing £560,919 for the children’s charity, alongside VIP wish child 15-year-old Lewis, from Plumstead, and his family.

Frankie & Benny’s launched its official national charity partnership with Rays of Sunshine; a children’s charity which grants wishes for seriously ill children across the UK, aged three to 18 years, in January 2015, pledging to raise £500,000 across two years. Today, Frankie & Benny’s revealed they had exceeded their target by over £60,000 – that’s a lot of wishes!

The exciting two-year relationship saw The Restaurant Group work closely with Rays of Sunshine up and down the country to brighten up the lives of brave and deserving children like Lewis, who is living with a range of serious medical conditions, including Down Syndrome, who had his wish granted to meet the Chelsea FC team by Rays of Sunshine.

Throughout the partnership, wish families were welcomed in to their local Frankie & Benny’s, with every wish child receiving a VIP card entitling them to free children’s meals.  Additionally, staff were dedicated to raising awareness of Rays of Sunshine across up and down the country by encouraging their customers to get involved with fundraising weekends.

As well as funding wishes, the family-friendly restaurant group also helped the children’s charity create some magical memories by hosting wishes, including a very magical event with infamous magician Dynamo.
