TODAY, CEO of The Restaurant Group, Danny Breithaupt, and Jane Sharpe, CEO of Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity met for breakfast with some very special VIPs.

The breakfast marked the launch of Frankie & Benny’s official national charity partnership with Rays of Sunshine; a children’s charity which grants wishes for seriously ill children across the UK, aged three to 18 years.

This exciting new relationship will see The Restaurant Group work closely with Rays of Sunshine up and down the country to brighten up the lives of brave and deserving children like Ellen (19), who is currently living with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, Oliver (3), who is currently living with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, and Alys (18), is currently living with Osteosarcoma, who all attended the launch event.

Last year Alys had her wish to have an Apple Macbook Pro for University granted by the children’s charity.  All children fulfilling their wishes with Rays of Sunshine during 2015 will receive a VIP Frankie & Benny’s Sunshine card entitling them to a free child’s meal every time they visit a restaurant.

To celebrate the launch, Frankie & Benny’s will be celebrating National Breakfast Week from 25th January to 30th January 2015 by hosting a series of charity breakfasts in restaurants across the group and donating £1 from every Big Breakfast sold to Rays of Sunshine.

Jane Sharpe, CEO of Rays of Sunshine said:

“We are absolutely thrilled to have been selected as Frankie & Benny’s official charity partner. The group have pledged to raise £250,000 during 2015 which is a substantial contribution to our charity and will enable us to offer a positive distraction to hundreds of seriously ill children. It is also fantastic to be able to take advantage of their generous hospitality and invite every single one of our wish families to enjoy a meal at one of their restaurants this year.”

Danny Breithaupt, CEO of The Restaurant Group said:

“Charity is huge part of our culture and teaming up with Rays of Sunshine just feels right. Helping a charity so associated with children and families will, I’m sure, resonate with our teams and our guests. We look forward to helping as many families as we can over the coming year and I am personally so proud of our teams’ commitment this year to raise the £250,000.”
