Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity fulfil three-year-old’s wish to be a princess for the day
A seriously ill three-year-old girl from Eccleshall, had her greatest wish granted to become a Princess for the day thanks to Rays of Sunshine (www.raysofsunshine.org.uk).
Three-year-old Millie, from Eccleshall, has spent the last year being treated for Wilms’ Tumour, a tumour of the kidney, which had spread to her heart, resulting in her needing an 11-and-a-half-hour operation and chemotherapy. Due to her treatment, Millie has been unable to take part in the typical activities of children her age. Despite what she has been through, Millie is a happy and caring little girl who doesn’t complain about her regular hospital visits and treatment. Her greatest wish was to be a princess for the day.
To make her wish come true, Rays of Sunshine organised for Millie and her family to travel to Leamington Spa, where Millie was treated to a royal makeover at the Raspberry Salon. This princess makeover included a manicure, glitter tattoos and pink ‘champagne’ before getting an exclusive ride around the town on ‘Rainbow Dash’ pony, courtesy of Kate Wingrove. Following her magical ride, the family were taken to Warwick Castle, where they were treated to a private tour of the castle and an overnight stay in the Rose Tower Suite in the 14th century Caesar’s Tower. In addition to this, Millie was surprised with a visit from Disney Princess Rapunzel, courtesy of Bee Imaginative Parties, Events & Clubs, who brought along chameleon Pascal to do some glittery artwork with Millie, share a special princess tea and read her several bedtime stories. Her wish helped Millie and her family to create some unforgettable memories and for the young girl to feel truly special.
After her wish, Millie commented:
“I loved Rapunzel’s castle! I saw Rainbow Dash. Thank you”
Leah, her mother, also commented:
“The day was truly amazing! Millie is still talking about it now and she felt like a true princess. Everything was so well thought out to make it extra special for Millie and it’s a day we will never forget. Thanks so much Rays of Sunshine.”
