Rays of Sunshine needs YOU!

Take part in a community fundraiser to help brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families

This year, we have two new and exciting fundraising initiatives, Sunshine Gardens and Marathon Month, both aimed to involve young people and schools in your community.

By getting involved, you will be helping Rays of Sunshine continue our work to grant magical wishes and provide ongoing support within hospital for seriously ill children.

We’ve made fundraising easy by creating fun packs for you to get started. So what are you waiting for? Come join Team Sunshine!

Sunshine Gardens

Sunshine Gardens is a two-part educational fundraiser where children learn about growing plants and then harvest seeds from the sunflowers they have grown. Children are encouraged to see who can grow the tallest sunflower and sell their harvested seeds to friends and family in return for donations.

Date: This is a year-round fundraiser, but the best time to plant seeds is in Spring from May to June.
Sponsorship: All we ask is that you help us raise a minimum of £10 which is only 5p-10p per cm of growth! Plus you can earn extra donations from selling your seeds.

Marathon Month

Marathon Month is a physical challenge where participants clock up miles and smiles by running, jogging or walking the length of a full marathon, over 30 days. We know that completing a marathon is a huge challenge, which is why we’re encouraging you to take on Marathon Month to brighten the lives of young people who face huge challenges every day.

Date: This is a year-round fundraiser, so you can take part in this challenge any month of the year.
Sponsorship: All we ask is that you help us raise a minimun of £5 which is only 20p per mile!

By supporting Rays of Sunshine, you will help grant wishes just like Abbie’s…

Nine-year-old, Abbie, who is living with a Brain Tumour, had her wish granted to be a Princess for the day with her sister, Hannah. They both had a magical day getting dressed up in beautiful gowns and lovely tiaras before meeting Princess Belle for a special carriage ride.

Afterwards, Abbie’s mum said, “I will remember today for the rest of my life, and Abbie will remember it for the rest of hers. You are amazing people who make families like mine, who are going through such a hard time, feel amazing! We have loved every second thanks to you!”
