16-year-old Jack has his greatest wish to create and direct his own film, thanks to Rays of Sunshine & Flycheese Animation

A seriously ill 16-year-old teen, from Chesterfield, had his greatest wish granted to make his very own Stop Motion Animation Films, thanks to Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity and Flycheese Animations,

Jack is currently living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a condition that causes severe muscle degeneration and weakness. The teen was diagnosed with the condition at just two years old and, due to his condition, he is now no longer able to walk.  He has a passion for film-making and his greatest wish was to own his very own Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge so he could make his own stop motion films.

To make Jack’s wish become a reality, Rays of Sunshine organised for Jack to go along to Flycheese Studio in Sheffield with his brand new Samsung phone. Whilst he was there, Jack got to produce and film his very own stop motion animation, called ‘I Don’t Know’. Once finished, Jack posted his video to Youtube: He was also able to get some expert advice on equipment and how to get involved in the industry whilst he was there.

Lynn, Jack’s mum, said:

“Jack really enjoyed his visit to the Flycheese Studio.  He took to the animation process that he was shown, enjoying every minute. Thank you.”

Paul Brown, Managing Director at Flycheese Animation, added:

“Jack is a natural animator (so is his dad!). Jack is now part of our after school club and learning loads more skills. We had a great time working with him, he is an amazing fella. We are proud to have been able to make your wish come true Jack, don’t stop pursuing your dreams!”
