Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity fulfil six-year-old’s wish to have an ice-skating party with her school friends

A seriously ill six-year-old girl from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire had her greatest wish granted to have an ice-skating party with her classmates and a special Minion guest, thanks to Rays of Sunshine (

Six-year-old Hafsa, from Buckinghamshire, is currently living with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, a rare cancer that affects the blood cells, after being diagnosed in December 2016. Due to her condition, she has endured both chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and will soon undergo a bone marrow transplant. As a result of this, Hafsa has spent a lot of time in hospital.  Hafsa’s greatest wish was to have an ice skating party, which she decided to share with her classmates, so she could have as much fun as possible.

To make Hafsa’s greatest wish come true, Rays of Sunshine enlisted the help of Queens Ice and Bowl who were happy to give her exclusive use of the Ice Rink and restaurant for her very special party. Hafsa is a very big fan of the Minions, so naturally, the party was Minion-themed, with one even coming along to meet her on arrival and have fun on the ice!

We’d like to say a special thanks to both Queens Ice and Bowl  for the use of the Ice Rink and Oscars Den for the fantastic balloons.
