Rays of Sunshine grants eight-year-old’s wish to own favourite instrument

An eight-year-old from Ramsey had his greatest wish granted to own his very own a set of his favourite musical instrument, bagpipes, thanks to Rays of Sunshine,, and online travel agency,

Vincent is currently living with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic condition that affects the lungs, and Cerebral Palsy. Due to his condition, he has to take daily medicine and do regular respiratory physiotherapy. Despite this, he is a very happy young boy who has a passion for bagpipe playing and has been learning to play since March 2015 with the Peterborough Highland Pipe Band.

Since learning to play the bagpipes, his parents have been advised that his lung function has increased and Vincent is even more passionate about playing with the Peterborough Highland Pipe Band. Rays of Sunshine also helped Vincent fulfil another dream, when he played for the first time at the Peterborough Cathedral with his bagpipes, just before Christmas.

Victoria, Vincent’s mum, said:

“We’re delighted that Rays of Sunshine was able to grant Vincent’s wish to own a full set of bagpipes. Ever since he started learning to play it has been a dream of his to own his own set that he can play with the band. He hasn’t stopped playing since he got them!”

Vincent’s wish was made possible thanks to Rays of Sunshine’s corporate partner, online travel agency, The partnership, which launched in summer 2015, invites customers to donate an amount of their choice to the charity when using the site to book their holidays.   To date, 10% of the customers booking holidays on have opted in to donate raising an incredible £3,363.92 in total.
