Star opens new Ice Rink at London Designer Outlet for Rays of Sunshine

Suzanne Shaw with Hollie Smith_2

This Friday [14th November], Dancing on Ice star and actress, Suzanne Shaw, donned her skates at a brand new ice-rink at  London Designer Outlet, Wembley Park, in aid of Rays of Sunshine. Not only did the star bring back memories of her former Dancing On Ice win, when she took to the ice she also brought back memories to one very special little girl, Hollie, who had her wish granted to meet Suzanne in 2008 by the children’s charity.

At the age of six, Hollie, who is living with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL), asked Rays of Sunshine to grant her greatest wish; to meet Suzanne Shaw. The star jumped at the chance to grant the wish and Hollie, who is a huge fan of Suzanne, got the chance to skate with her. This week, now 12 years old, Hollie once again took to the ice with her idol. Suzanne also skated alongside some other special guests – all who are bravely fighting serious illnesses.

Suzanne comments: “I’m delighted to be opening Ice Skating at Wembley Park in support of Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity. I’m thrilled to be able to share such an exciting moment with some very deserving children from Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity and am so looking forward to seeing Hollie again. It was an amazing experience to grant Hollie’s wish and bring a smile to her face, so I can’t wait to take another spin on the ice with her.”
