Tottenham Midfielder announced as ambassador of Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity
Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has been announced as an ambassador for Rays of Sunshine, www.raysofsunshine.org.uk, a children’s charity that grants wishes for seriously ill children aged three to 18 across the UK.
Dele selected Rays of Sunshine after hearing about the impact the charity has on the lives of thousands of seriously ill children across the UK. His support will include fulfilling wishes for individual children, attending Rays of Sunshine events and supporting the charity’s campaigns.
Dele Alli comments:
“I am honoured to become an ambassador for Rays of Sunshine. Every day of the year the charity makes a positive difference to lives of children and families going through challenging times. I am looking forward to supporting this amazing cause and helping to make life a little brighter for even more children.”
Jane Sharpe, CEO of Rays of Sunshine, added:
“Becoming a footballer is the ultimate dream for so many young children and Dele Alli is a great source of inspiration to so many. We couldn’t be more delighted to announce him as our new ambassador and look forward to working with him to make wishes come true for brave and deserving children across the UK.”
Over 5,500 individual wishes have been granted since the charity was set up in 2003. Wishes can be as unique as the children themselves and whether a child wants to be a princess or a fireman for the day, go to Disneyland, visit Santa in Lapland, own an iPad, meet a favourite footballer or a ‘real life’ mermaid, Rays of Sunshine works hard to make that wish come true.
