UK artist helps charity grant wishes for seriously ill children across the UK
Craig David is announced as an ambassador for Rays of Sunshine.
As a supporter of Rays of Sunshine, Craig has helped to create some incredible experiences for seriously ill children. Most recently, he granted the wish of 16-year-old Lexie, who is living with a prosthetic eye after being diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, a rare type of eye cancer, when he invited her down to the shoot of his next music video.
Craig was announced as ambassador on Saturday evening at The Grosvenor House Hotel, when he performed at the charity’s annual fundraising party, which thanks to his support, raised an incredible £600,000 – that’s a lot of wishes!
Craig David comments:
“I have been involved with Rays of Sunshine for many years and I have seen first-hand the special work that the charity has done for so many children across the country. So, when Rays of Sunshine asked me to become an ambassador it was a great honour which I accepted immediately. I am looking forward to continuing to support this important cause and help the charity grant many more magical wishes for seriously ill children.”
Jane Sharpe, CEO of Rays of Sunshine, added:
“Craig David has always been a great friend to the charity. He is incredibly kind and caring and always goes above and beyond to make our wish children feel extra special. We couldn’t be more delighted to announce him as our ambassador and look forward to working with him to brighten the lives of even more seriously ill children.”
