11-year-old Ben and his stepbrother Cameron, who both suffer from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, were treated to a full VIP day out at ‘Soar’ at Intu Braehead nr Glasgow, thanks to Funstation and Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity. They were joined by their parents Sheryl and Alan and sisters Phoebe (9) and Layla (5).
They were invited by Funstation to highlight and support the #Tickets2 Wishes campaign, which raises funds for Rays of Sunshine.
Ben’s wish was to visit LEGOLAND and stay in the Lego themed hotel. His wish was granted in 2016 by Rays of Sunshine, thanks to Funstation customers donating their Prize tickets to #Tickets2Wishes. “Ben had a fantastic day and played with LEGO from noon until night!” Said his mum, Sheryl.
James Miller, MD of Funstation said “Funstation is all about family and friends having Fun together and by supporting Rays of Sunshine with #Tickets2Wishes we can help other less fortunate families have a Fun time too.”
In addition to enjoying Funstation Ben and Cameron, who are both wheelchair dependent, and their family enjoyed a jam-packed day of activities that Soar has to offer including Laserstation, Paradise Island Golf, Tenpin Bowling, lunch at Nandos, a special viewing of the Captain Underpants film at the Odeon with complimentary sweets, popcorn and drinks.
Ben and Cameron’s mum, Sheryl, from Stoneyburn, in West Lothian said:
“What Funstation and everyone else at Soar has done for the boys is priceless and it’s certainly kept a huge smile on their faces all day. We can’t thank them enough. Coming here for a day of fun has meant the boys get away from their day-to-day routine of things like physiotherapy. It makes them feel like normal youngsters and it gives them and us lots of great memories.”
Jane Sharpe, CEO of Rays of Sunshine, added:
“We’re so grateful to Funstation for launching the #Tickets2Wishes campaign and organising such a fun-filled day for Ben, Cameron and his family. The money raised by Funstation customers will enable us to fund magical wishes for brave and deserving children, just like Ben and Cameron, for which we can’t be more thankful.”
Marketing manager at Intu Braehead, Christine Macdonald said:
“We’re so glad the boys had a great time enjoying all the different attractions at Soar, Funstation do a lot of good work with the Rays of Sunshine charity”.
